Why we love this deal
While mid-century modern sofas and loveseats are revered for their clean lines and elegant simplicity, there’s one problem that comes with them: the price tag. It’s not unusual for these styles to cost thousands of dollars. While the aesthetic is worth the spend, we sometimes come across deals in this category that make the style affordable, and Target’s deal on the Costway Modern Loveseat is one of them.
This handsome battleship gray loveseat normally retails for $2,210, and it looks worth every penny. It would be a stunner on its own, but the inclusion of two orange bolster pillows gives in a pop of color and enhances the modern art look even more. This is the kind of furniture you take a break on when you’re strolling through the art museum, and now you can own it for less than $200.

Why do shoppers love it?
There are plenty of inexpensive loveseats on the market, but you typically have to sacrifice style in trade for the low price. This loveseat is a rare exception. Measuring 31.5 inches high, 31 inches deep, and 68 inches wide, this piece comfortably seats two and would look right at home in a condo or an apartment. The cushions are filled with high-density sponge and measure 5 inches thick, so they’re plenty plush enough for all your hours of lounging.
This loveseat is not only comfortable, but has plenty of little touches that make it special. The bolster pillows can be used behind your back for lumbar support, which is not a detail you find often. It also has a magazine pocket on one side, which can be used to store remotes, a tablet, or anything else you want to keep close at hand. We especially love the black metal feet tipped in anti-slip pads, which enhance the loveseat’s elegance even more and prevent scratches when you move it around.Â
One important thing to note is that this loveseat does require assembly, and it ships in two boxes, so don’t panic if you get one in advance of the other. As the piece weighs 117 pounds once assembled, it’s a good idea to have a friend or family around to help put it together.
Pros and cons of the Costway Modern Loveseat
Pros:
- An unbeatable price point: This is one of the deepest furniture discounts we’ve seen this season so far.
- Good looks + comfort: Not all modern sofas are comfortable, but thanks to 5-inch cushions, this one is.
- Bolsters included: There’s no need to buy extra throw pillows.
Cons:
- It only seats two: This is the perfect piece for a single person or a couple, but a larger family wouldn’t fit on it.
- Assembly is required: It comes in two pieces, so you’ll need to put it together.Â
